past thanksgiving but 4 more weeks to go

The extended Thanksgiving holiday has officially ended and today I made it to my class and did my personal workout. I don’t know why I went completely nuts and took nearly a week off, but I did and it’s done.

Thanksgiving treated me very well. I had a blast with my family. It was totally worth not getting my points to see everyone. I did walk a few mornings in the below freezing weather of Wyoming and I frankly don’t know how people can exercise outside during the winter, it’s freakin’ cold! My legs were freezing the entire time and I never did get warm on Thursday after walking that morning for an hour. I had a very hard time sticking to my 1200 cal. diet but still managed to not eat the yummy Thanksgiving rolls and only had 2 small slices of sugar-free pumpkin pie over the course of 5 days. I had a really hard time not eating mom’s cooking. She made a lot of my childhood favorites including homemade chicken noodle soup and ham & cheese casserole and I ate very generous portions of both. Those childhood comfort foods cannot be denied and curses blessings to mom for making them šŸ™‚

I missed my group workout yesterday morning and so I didn’t offically weigh-in for last week. But this morning, after our pilates class, I found a scale that some other members of my group were using. The general consensus among the purple group is that this particular scale was weighing about 3 pounds heavy so my best guess is that I lost 2 to 3 pounds. I weighed-in at exactly the same as my last weigh-in (283) so here’s hoping that the scale is wrong. At least I didn’t gain!

I’ve got 4 more weeks of this work out competition to go and it is getting hard to stay motivated. It doesn’t help that Wednesday is looming large and that means eminent vomiting. If the rumors are true we’re doing a triathlon and next to the stairs this is one of the competition day’s I’ve been dreading the most. I don’t want to be tortured for over an hour and chances are that it will take me more than an hour to complete my part of the triathlon. I’m only up to a 23 minute mile, I cannot swim and after spinning I’m pretty sure that I can never be friends with a bicycle again. Maybe I’ll get lucky and break something tonight!

WTG Girl. My mom offered to make me chicken noodle soup (over mashed potatoes–my favorite) but I seemed so excited about it I think she knew I wouldn’t control myself, so she withdrew her offer šŸ˜¦ I should have come over to your mom’s house. šŸ™‚

I’m not looking forward to tomorrow night. UGH. I’ll likely be at early morning water aerobics. If so — I’ll be there to cheer you on! WooHoo!

Sorry about the temptation. It was great fun to have all of you home for Thanksgiving. I’m glad you managed to either stay the same or lose some pounds. good luck on the vomiting thing. I just told Ashlee as she was crying over her math assignment (multiplying and dividing fractions, so not something I can help with), life is about finishing. Hang in there and when swallowing an elephant head first don’t choke on the tail!
