8 more weeks of big fat losing coming up!

Well, I haven’t been posting as of late because there really hasn’t been much to say.  I’ve been maintaining my weight loss (a solid 264 lbs) but haven’t shed any additional pounds.  I have really slacked off in the exercising department the last several weeks and so I haven’t been able to report on that progress either.  All in all I’m just coasting and coasting isn’t going to get me to my goals.

So in light of this lack of progress I decided to sign up for the latest incarnation of the Ultimate Loser contest that the local gym in hosting.  I’ll begin on May 5th for 8 weeks of boot-camp like training.  They have changed things up a little bit this time around and are only asking we participate in the 1 hour of training m-f.  We are only doing the challenge days 3 times and the prizes will be awarded according to team weight loss rather than individual weight loss.  This means that if I want to win anything I’ve got to be a great team player as well as encouraging the team to be great too.

My plan is to get back into my 2 hour a day exercise routine by walk/jogging to and from the gym each morning.  It’s getting warmer and I think this is a good way to get some additional cardio in.  My classes are at 6 a.m. so I’ll be leaving pretty early to get there on time but I’ve figured that the distance from my new apartment is 4 miles round trip so I sould be able to make it.  Seriously, 5:20 a.m. and 6 a.m. are not that different in the great scheme of things 🙂  They are both freakin’ early and will require me to be in bed by 10.

This go around I’m more prepared for what will be required of me.  I’m a little more fit.  And my feet are in better condition so I should be able to avoid the whole blister thing.  I have a goal to lose 20% of my body weight this time and I’ll be updating this blog regularly (hopefully several times a week) again.  I’ll have a different trainer this time (Ethan switched groups on me!) but my new trainer, Alyssa, should be great.  I’m excited, so excited, to start again.  It will be hard, I will probably vomit and/or cry, but it’s gonna be totally worth it!

Watch out for the boggy man (you know, things that go bump in the night and early mornings)I wouldn’t want something to happen to you on your way to and from the gym. Good luck!
